Amanda Seyfried Is Chloe & Wants Riding Hood

Here’s an excellent interview from IESB in which Amanda discusses being terrified of taking on “Chloe”, more “Girl With The Red Riding Hood”, who she considers to be the best actor of our generation, and other projects she’s in talks for.

Q: Were you nervous at all, in doing a role like this?

Amanda: I was terrified. I didn’t think I was going to get it.

Q: How did you go about picking a role like this? Did you ever worry about your parents seeing the film?

Amanda: My mom saw it, but my dad will never see it, hopefully. Well, he can cover his eyes. It’s hard to be proud of it and not want to show your loved ones.

Q: Had you seen the original film?

Amanda: I just got Natalie on DVD from Amazon. I haven’t watched it yet. That girl, Emmanuelle Béart, is just way more interesting looking. I can’t wait to see that, but I’m glad I didn’t see it first.

Q: What were you attracted to with this film, and were you worried about doing the more intimate scenes?

Amanda: I was worried that I wasn’t capable of actually being able to nail them the way it was written and also the way Atom [Egoyan] wanted it to be played. It’s the study of a marriage. It seems like it’s never easy. It’s about a woman coming into this place where she feels like she’s lost and she doesn’t know exactly who she is anymore. I think it’s just so realistic and the way things happen is just so unexpected. I’ve never seen that before, in a movie. For me, it’s also a character that wouldn’t come around very often, for someone my age.

Amanda “Only in Negotiations” for “Girl With The Red Riding Hood”

It’s such a roller coaster with this one! Hopefully we’ll get definite confirmation soon!

Speaking with Steve at the press junket today for Atom Egoyan’s upcoming erotic thriller Chloe, star Amanda Seyfried clarified that she was only in negotiations to star in Catharine Hardwicke’s Girl with the Red Riding Hood. When she spoke with Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet at last Sunday’s Academy Awards, it sounded like she was definitely going to star in the project. However, she made it clear to Steve that while she wants to do the film, no papers have been signed. Seyfried also mentioned that she’s been offered a number of upcoming projects and in addition to the possibility of her doing Red Riding, we could be hearing about other films she’s attached to very soon.
