With the fifth and final season of “Big Love” coming to a close (there are only three episodes left, to be exact), fans of HBO’s off-kilter — and ground-breaking — polygamy drama are gearing up to say goodbye to Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton) and his entire brood. And while viewers must part ways with the extended Henrickson clan, it seems some of the cast plans to stay something of a family, even after the show has gone off the air.

When MTV News caught up with Amanda Seyfried, who played defiant daughter Sarah Henrickson on the Emmy-nominated series for four seasons, she told us letting go of the show wasn’t too tough for her.

“I already dealt with the goodbyes. I’m cool,” said Seyfried, who is promoting her latest film, the fairy-tale adaptation “Red Riding Hood.” Turns out, the 25-year-old star was already close, in proximity or otherwise, with some of the show’s cast and crew.

“I live right next door to Jeanne Tripplehorn and very close to Ginny [Ginnifer] Goodwin. My best friend, who’s the producer of the show, lives down the street,” Seyfried said, adding, “My brother on the show [Douglas Smith] is like my brother in real life. [They] are already incorporated into my life, so I’m not that sad.”

Still, Seyfried — who noted, “It’s gonna suck because we’re not going to be on that set that we’ve been on for seven years playing a family” — acknowledged the rest of the cast (which includes Golden Globe-winner Chloé Sevigny) had a tougher time letting go.

“They were more sad because they also did the last season, whereas I only did one scene,” said Seyfried, who returned to the “Big Love” set while filming “Red Riding Hood.”

While bidding adieu to the series will be a blow to its loyal viewers, Seyfried promises that at least there’s a satisfying ending in store. She emphasized that the series finale, set to air March 20, “is crazy.” When we asked if fans will be pleased with the way everything wraps up, she put it succinctly with a smile, “Yes! I mean, if they’re not, then … tough!”

What big eyes you have. What big teeth you have! Amanda Seyfried comes face to face with a big bad werewolf in ‘Red Riding Hood,’ in theaters March 11, and the 25-year-old star calls the film “inspiring,” “haunted,” “dark” and “kind of weird.”

“She’s a heroine in a very, very, very old, classic story, and so to take that on is a responsibility, but it’s also super fun,” Amanda says of her medieval character. “It’s more interesting to play very intrigued and kind of terrified at the same time – it gives a lot of cool angles to each scene you wouldn’t normally see.”

‘Twilight’ director Catherine Hardwicke gives the classic fairytale a horror-movie twist with Amanda as Valerie, a beautiful young girl living in a village that hides a terrifying secret: A werewolf prowls the surrounding forest, and the townsfolk maintain an uneasy truce by providing a monthly animal sacrifice.

When the beast takes a human life, the townsfolk recruit famed werewolf hunter Father Solomon (Gary Oldman) to help them kill it. As the death toll rises, Solomon declares that one of the villagers must be the wolf. Torn between a brooding outsider (Shiloh Fernandez) and her arranged suitor (Max Irons), Valerie discovers that she has a unique connection to the beast, making her both suspect…and bait.

“Being able to hear an animal speak is beyond imagination,” says Amanda. “When the wolf speaks to [Valerie] for the first time, she’s shocked beyond belief and is trying to make sense of it, — but also is so terrified because it’s communicating in a way where she’s understanding that this wolf knows her.”

As for working with ‘Twilight’ director Hardwicke, Amanda beams, “She’s really passionate. I don’t know where she gets her energy, but she knows everything inside and out. She’s so thorough.”
