Brian and Ferres passed on the very sad news that Letters to Juliet director Gary Winick passed away yesterday. From Deadline:

We are saddened to report that filmmaker Gary Winick died Sunday at age 49. Winick died after a long battle with brain cancer. While he has transitioned to such studio films as Letters to Juliet, 13 Going On 30, Bride Wars and Charlotte’s Web, Winick has long led the charge for independent films. He directed Tadpole and was also the founder of indie company InDigEnt.

A big thank you to the Lippin Group for letting us know that “Letters to Juliet” will be available via Movies on Demand on September 14th – the same day the DVD releases! So while you can order a copy, or pick it up in store, you can also enjoy from the comforts of your own home that day!

Whichever way you decide, the movie release is less than a month away – can’t wait!!
